Digital Control of a PWM Switching Amplifier with Global Feedback
نویسنده
چکیده
A digitally controlled class-D amplifier using global feedback is presented. The output signal of the amplifier is sampled using a sigma-delta analogue-to-digital converter. A novel compensation strategy is used to minimize distortion resulting from ripple feedback of the output signal. An evaluation system, based on a Field Programmable Gate Array, was developed and an experimental evaluation was performed. State-ofthe-art performance was achieved.

In this paper, we investigate the parameters affecting Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) and Power Supply Rejection Ratio (PSRR) in PWM Class D Amplifiers (CDAs) on the basis of linear models with feedback. From our mathematical analysis, we show that the THD of a PWM Class D amplifier with feedback can be improved by increasing the gain of the integrator through adding another amplifier at the o...

In this paper a two-phase supply modulator suitable for envelope tracking power amplifier is presented. The designed supply modulator has the linear assisted switching architecture. Two-phase architecture is used in order to reduce the output switching ripples. The proposed architecture uses hysteretic control instead of pulse width modulation (PWM) which significantly reduces the circuit compl...

The fundamental problem of pulse-width modulation (PWM) based open-loop digital Class-D audio power amplifiers is the inherent nonlinearity of the PWM process, which necessitates the application of a precompensating linearization algorithm. Severe technical difficulties arising from the stringent speed requirements of both electronic circuitry, and digital signal processing devices make the imp...

In this paper a class-E amplifier is designed for the...
متن کاملHigh-Bandwidth, High-Efficiency RF Amplitude Modulation for On-Board Transmit Amplifiers
Introduction Switching RF amplifiers appear to be a promising alternative for on-board transmit amplifiers due to its high efficiency and high isolation to neighboring elements [1,2]. We have shown that the current mode class-D amplifier (CMCD) allows a direct control of the current through the coil, resulting in a B1 field, which is potentially less sensitive to load changes than some other al...
